The fifth official award ceremony of Vick Foundation took place on 27 October 2008.
Performances by the famous baritone Petar Danailov and the talented young soprano Simona Kodova (accompanied by Vyara Shuperlieva on the piano) were also highlights of the ceremony
Emerging from another five novels, Ivanova’s work was selected by a competent jury composing of: European Commissioner Meglena Kouneva, Prof. Boryana Hristova, Prof. Valery Stefanov, Assoc. Prof. Georgy Lozanov and movie director Andrey Slabakov.
The jury for the 2008 VICK Prize for the Bulgarian Novel of the Year is composed of a dynamic mix of personalities. The jury for the novels is made of European Commissioner Ms. Meglena Kouneva, Professor Boryana Hristova – head of the St. Cyril and Methodius National Library, Professor Georgi Lozanov – a media expert, Professor Valeri Stefanov – Dean of the Faculty of Slavic Studies at St. Kliment Ohridski Sofia University and last but not least the film director and actor Andrei Slabakov.
