Vick Foundation

Vick Foundation was established by Edward Vick in February 2004.

Its purpose is to assist, develop and promote Bulgarian fiction inside and outside Bulgaria.

The objective of its founder is to attract interest for works of contemporary Bulgarian writers.

The focus is the Vick Prize, an annual competition for the best Bulgarian novel of the year.

The prize is a monetary award of BGN 10,000.

It is awarded to the author of the best novel as determined by the jury.
The responsibility of the jury is to determine the qualifying books from which a short list of six is selected.

There is also a competition for the most popular short-listed book, based on votes cast by the general public. The author of the novel with the greatest public acclaim receives a prize of BGN 1,000.

After 5 years of success, VICK Foundation is still persevering in its endeavour to bring Bulgarian literature to the forefront and is gaining supporters.

This initiative is already changing the Bulgarian novel.

With your interest, help to change its future!
