Tiramisu

TiramisuIn Italian, Tiramisu means “pick me up”.

It is difficult to think of a better way to recover than with  the wonderful mix of coffee, ladyfinger biscuits, chocolate, egg yolks and mascarpone, often pepped up with Marsala wine.

The actual dish is a quite recent invention as it was invented as late as 1969.The fact that the word Tiramisu was first used in England in 1982 and only one year later in New York shows just how quickly the dish captured imaginations and palates. Do not think you can get away with less than 500 calories a portion. And that is only a small one!
